Right, before you call me a complete grinch, let me just say that I love Christmas. Mince pies, mulled wine, presents, food, etc etc, right up my street! But.. it is cold, tiring, and for most of December, I can think of nothing I’d prefer over some chill time at home with one of the better Christmas movies (I’m talking Love Actually, Home Alone, The Grinch etc) in some comfy clothes with tasty snacks. Enter stage right, my all time favourite garment – cashmere jumpers, at prices that won’t break the bank (but will still probably have to hit the credit card). Christmas-tum hiding, and perfect for lounging or militant Christmas shopping, it’s the perfect present to yourself this December (and to others. I suppose.)
And to be honest, I think that with all the high-street marching for the purely selfless act of gift-buying, you are completely deserving, no, owed, the chance to treat yo’self! So here are my favourite bargain cashmere jumpers available at the moment, all under £100, so go on, get your snuggle on and hunker down for Christmas!
Marks and Spencer Pure Cashmere Turtle Neck Jumper – £99 here.
I think the mock neck jumpers are one of the chicest, easiest things to wear, I don’t know why everything I own doesn’t have this neckline. You don’t have to worry about what you wear under it – any top that avoids a VVL (visible vest line) will do, and all you need to chuck on with it is some great earrings or a statement necklace.
Uniqlo Cashmere Turtle Neck Sweater – £69.90 here.
I love this colour! I would like everything in this colour. It looks great on most colourings (unless you’ve got too much red in your face like me :() and it’s the least ugly Christmassy jumper I’ve ever seen.
Gap cashmere Hi-lo pullover – £99.95 here.
Great shape, and the longer back is great for those with junk-in-the-trunk (me.) I also love the colours, but if only they did a cashmere version of their classic stripe jumper.
Asos White Crew Neck Jumper – currently £66.50 here.
The high crew-neck, beautiful colour and fab styling make this jumper so appealing. However, I am sadly FAR too messy for anything white that can’t be regularly (every wear) chucked in the washing machine.
H&M Long Cashmere Jumper – £99.99 here.
I think this is amazing, I’m so impressed at the H&M cashmere. It’s a bargain and this style is so cool. It would look great over jeans or velvet leggings (Wolford have gorgeous ones) or over a long pencil skirt – maybe leather? However you style it, it’s a fab piece and an absolute bargain!
Boden Cashmere Crew Neck Jumper – £99.50 here.
The most gorgeous colour range in the most classic shape, Boden have got their shit together for the loveliest Autumn/Winter range.
Pure Collection Gassato Cashmere Bardot Sweater – Now £66 here.
I feel that this is a sweater that Audrey Hepburn would wear. It’s so classic and would look amazing with a pleated midi skirt and heels as a Christmas do alternative. And if that isn’t reason enough, it’s SIXTY SIX POUNDS. Only. That’s it. Why, oh why is it sold out in my size.
So go on, get yourself a little Christmas present, you deserve it!
